Smart Alerts
Never let a job, invoice, or follow-up slip.
ServBuilder watches your schedule and your books. When something needs attention — an overdue invoice, a job reminder, a follow-up — it tells you automatically.
In depth
What Smart Alerts does for your business
The gap between a completed service visit and a paid invoice is filled with manual follow-up tasks that most small service businesses cannot keep up with consistently. A customer who does not receive a reminder forgets about their appointment. An invoice that sits without a nudge gets pushed to the bottom of someone's to-do list. A follow-up that never happens means a maintenance contract that does not renew. ServBuilder's smart alerts automate all of this. You configure your alert rules once — job reminder 24 hours before, payment nudge 3 days after invoice, annual maintenance reminder 11 months after the last service — and ServBuilder handles the outreach automatically via SMS and email, using your business name. Technicians receive their own push notifications for new assignments, schedule changes, and customer messages. All outbound alerts are tracked in a dashboard, so you can see which customers received and opened their reminders and follow up personally on the few that need a human touch.
How it works
The follow-up you always forget to do
Set your alert rules once
Configure when reminders go out — 24 hours before a job, 3 days after an unpaid invoice, or a week after job completion for a follow-up. Set it and forget it.
Alerts go out automatically
ServBuilder sends SMS and email notifications to customers on your behalf. Techs get push notifications for schedule changes or new assignments.
Review in the alert dashboard
See every alert sent, opened, and acted on. Follow up manually on anything that needs a personal touch.

FAQ
Common questions about Smart Alerts
Can I customize the wording of the messages customers receive?
Yes. Every alert template — job reminders, invoice nudges, follow-ups — can be edited to match your business's tone, and templates use your business name so they don't read as generic system messages.
Do alerts go out by text, email, or both?
Both, depending on what you configure per alert type and what contact info the customer has on file. A job reminder might go out as SMS while an invoice receipt goes by email, for example.
What if a customer opts out of text reminders?
You can mark a customer as SMS opt-out and ServBuilder automatically falls back to email-only alerts for that contact going forward.
Can technicians turn off their own push notifications?
Techs can adjust notification preferences for non-critical alerts, but new job assignments and schedule changes are always delivered to make sure nothing is missed.
