Pricing comparison

FieldEdge is quote-only. The only honest “their price” is a sentence that says so.

What the table actually means

Quote-only software versus a published card is the whole comparison. HVAC depth and QuickBooks Desktop are why shops stay on FieldEdge.

They do not publish a monthly number. We will not invent one.

FieldEdge’s pricing FAQ says cost varies by technicians, employees, and add-ons, and tells you to book a demo. ServBuilder’s public list is Starter $79/mo and Professional $199/mo. That is the structural difference: a quote versus a published card.

A labeled third-party estimate, not a FieldEdge price

FSM Advisor’s FieldEdge pricing page (as of 25 July 2026) says FieldEdge does not publish official pricing and aggregates user reports at roughly $100/month per office user and $125/month per field technician (~$112 blended). Treat that as a directory estimate. It is not FieldEdge’s list price and it is not a promise.

Licenses versus member bands

Select / Premier / Elite include 2 / 4 / 6 mobile app licenses on the published table. ServBuilder Starter includes up to 5 team members; Professional includes up to 15; Enterprise is unlimited members. If your office staff and techs all need logins, count them against those two systems before you ask for a FieldEdge quote.

QuickBooks Desktop is a FieldEdge win

FieldEdge lists QuickBooks Online and Desktop on every plan. ServBuilder lists QuickBooks Online on Professional+ only and does not publish a Desktop sync. If Desktop is non-negotiable, stay on FieldEdge.

Portal and GPS are easy to over-claim

ServBuilder’s customer portal is Professional+. FieldEdge’s Consumer Management Portal is Elite or an add-on. GPS and routing are Professional+ on our side and are not rows on FieldEdge’s public feature table — ask them. We are not going to mark them as “missing” from a table they did not print.

Which one fits your business

Multi-truck HVAC that already runs FieldEdge’s pricebook should stay. Published price and limited beta are the only case we can make without a quote.

Stay on FieldEdge if you are a multi-truck HVAC shop that already bought the stack

Flat-rate pricebook, advanced agreements, Proposal Pro, MarketingEdge, and warehouse inventory (with the QB Desktop Enterprise caveat) are what FieldEdge is for. ServBuilder does not publish those as named products on /pricing.

Stay if QuickBooks Desktop or a quoted onboarding is the point

FieldEdge does not offer a free trial because they want onboarding to transfer data and train the shop. If that implementation model is why you picked them, a self-serve marketing site will not replace it.

ServBuilder is a published-price conversation

If you want a number you can read without a sales call — $79 or $199, no per-seat fee, month-to-month after you choose a paid plan — that is the case we can make. It is not a claim that we are a better HVAC platform.

We are in limited beta; they are an established multi-truck vendor

Complimentary ServBuilder access is for accepted beta organizations only, with a Wave 1 cap and founding $49/$99 after beta for continuous customers. FieldEdge’s path is a demo and onboarding. Those are different buying motions, not a quality ranking.

Migration and implementation

They onboard you in; leaving is not a self-serve export. Their FAQ ties downgrades to the current contract period.

Ask FieldEdge for the export before you give notice

Customers, job history, agreements, pricebook items, and invoices are the records that hurt to rebuild. Their onboarding team is how data usually enters FieldEdge; leaving may not be a self-serve CSV. Start that conversation while the contract period is still open — their FAQ says downgrades happen at the end of the current contract period.

Settle QuickBooks Desktop before you settle dispatch

If you are on QuickBooks Desktop, moving field software without moving accounting is how you spend a month reconciling by hand. ServBuilder publishes QuickBooks Online on Professional+, not Desktop.

Recount licenses against our member bands

Four Premier mobile licenses is not the same as “four people in the company.” Count office users too. Starter is 5 members; Professional is 15. Portal, GPS, routing, QBO, and online payments are Professional+ (GPS tracking; Route optimization; Customer portal; QuickBooks Online; Invoicing and online payments).

There is no FieldEdge free trial to overlap with

They say so on the pricing FAQ. ServBuilder complimentary use is limited beta for accepted orgs, not a 14-day self-serve trial and not a permanent $0 plan. Plan the overlap as a paid FieldEdge month plus a beta application, or wait.

Frequently asked questions

How much does FieldEdge cost?+

FieldEdge does not publish list prices. Their FAQ says pricing varies by team size and add-ons and asks you to book a demo. FSM Advisor (as of 25 July 2026) labels an estimate of about $100/user/mo office and $125/user/mo field from user reports — that is a directory figure, not FieldEdge’s price. ServBuilder’s public list is $79/mo Starter and $199/mo Professional.

Does FieldEdge have a free trial?+

No. FieldEdge’s pricing FAQ says they do not offer a free trial because they want onboarding to transfer data and train the team. ServBuilder complimentary access is limited beta for accepted organizations only.

Is ServBuilder cheaper than FieldEdge?+

We cannot honestly say yes or no without their quote. We can say our public numbers: $79 and $199, no per-seat fee, up to 5 members on Starter and 15 on Professional. Ask FieldEdge for a written quote for the same headcount and compare that document to /pricing.

Does FieldEdge include a customer portal and GPS?+

The Consumer Management Portal is on Elite or sold as an add-on to Select/Premier, per FieldEdge’s table. GPS is not a row on that table — confirm with FieldEdge. ServBuilder’s customer portal, GPS, and routing are Professional+.

Can I keep QuickBooks Desktop if I switch?+

Not as a published ServBuilder integration. FieldEdge lists QuickBooks Online and Desktop on every plan. ServBuilder lists QuickBooks Online on Professional and Enterprise. Desktop is a reason to stay.
